Hey just needing advice. I purchased a bed on marketplace last week and have noticed it's not fit for purpose as it doesn't come with a fire label on it. I've contacted them but now they have blocked me and I'm unable to have any contact. Do I have any rights? Yes I made the mistake of paying cash and no receipt to prove the purchase. Any advice or is it just a loss
Thanks
                Thanks

            What "Marketplace"?
Life in the slow lane0 -
Was this from a private seller or trader?
If a private seller, you have zero hope - it's down to you to check the product meets your needs, including any labels / documentation.0 -
Is this Facebook Marketplace? If so you will struggle if it is a private seller which a lot on there are.0

What's wrong with the bed? Or is the mattress the problem?0

ThanksNot having a label does not make it 'not fit for purpose'. It's still a bed!As already said. if a private sale, which 99% of facebook marketplace sales are, then you have no comeback.0 -

According to the below all mattresses should be tested and labelled, if the below link is correct then a mattress sold without the labelling would certainly be cause to reject if the seller is a business.powerful_Rogue said:Steph181087 said:Hey just needing advice. Whether private sellers passing on mattresses are covered by the regulations I don't know.

Totally agree with business sellers, but chances are the OP purchased from a private seller. If the marketplace advert did not state it came with a label, and the OP didn't bother to check, then I would say its 'buyer beware'.

Would what the mattress was wanted for be relevant, too? The absence of a fire label would seem to be most relevant to an individual wishing to re-sell it.0

If you bought from a business over (Facebook?) Marketplace and the business delivered it, then you can reject it and get them to collect it for a full refund.Steph181087 said:Hey just needing advice. Thanks
If you purchased a second hand bed from a private seller, paid cash and collected it yourself then it will come down to the description. Did it say on the advert that it had a fire label?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
