Myself and wife have booked a long weekend to Palma flying out on Friday 16th July & returning Tuesday 20th July.  I'm double jabbed, she's not vaccinated at all.  There seems to be some confusion as to what tests we do / don't need.  Someone has told us we need to book a day 2 test plus a day 8 test on return to UK, while others have said just a day 2 test is required.  Can someone please clarify.  Thanks.

At the moment Majorca is green ( but on the watchlist so could turn amber) which will require you to complete the passenger location form, take a test 72 hours before returning home and book one test on or before day 2 on your return. You will also need to meet Majorca's entry requirements which are either evidence of full vaccination or a PCR test 72 hours before arrival. The rules are changing almost by the day so make sure you check before you travel, and if Majorca goes amber then you will need to self isolate for 10 days on your return home and book the day 8 test as well.

One thing I would do is make sure you have proof of your double vaccine in paper form

The Day 2 test must be booked prior to returning to UK as it goes on your Passenger Locator form , which is needed for check in to your flight and Border checks in UK
