If the cameras were only set up to record motion detection then that would explain it. Depending on sensitivity anything could have set them off - people, cats, trees moving in the wind... With motion detection they only record in small bursts so a second motion in the recording window may not extend the recording time. The overnight could have been anything - again no motion detection, power failure... Might be something in the system logs that may indicate why it stopped recording at 1am.1

It does sound initially like it might be either a motion detection or scheduling issue. Did you set it up yourself - or did someone come in and do it for you? If it is set to constant record, and the schedule is 24hours, then there's a fault in there that's making the unit power down and stop recording. If it's under warranty you might want to get it looked at - if it's not under warranty you might want to upgrade the NVR. No point having a system that only records when it feels like.1

Well if the recording is set to constant over a 24 hour basis - and there are definitely no schedules or motion detections set - then it sounds very much like time for a replacement.
If ever you decide to - don’t go for Swann - go for an independent network video recorder and separate cameras - so that if anything goes faulty in future you only have to replace the item causing the problem.Sadly Swann are all in one sets that when it goes wrong the whole lot needs to be replaced - unless you can find a second hand bit on eBay.1 -
