Too much student finance

As my husband lost his job and took a lower paid one we asked for daughters finance to be looked at for current year. She received £4400 but now been told she should of only had £3900 as husband earned more than we expected due to overtime.
As she has now finished her degree what happens, she hasn't got £400. She wasn't able to work till recently as her job was with student union and we all know they never really opened. We helped her as much as we could but she is in her overdraft

Thanks for the link but sadly doesn't explain your options for repayment.sheramber said:0 -
Why not lend it to her from your savings and have her pay it back over whatever schedule she can afford? This is exactly the sort of unexpected expense that they are there for.0

I appreciate what you saying but I already support her by paying the extra £4000 she can't have due to our income. We have also been slapped with a £2000 higher income charge for CHB going back 5yrs ago. As stated hubby's income has dropped and our saving are practically gone due to some other out goings. Sadly there doesn't seem many options. Looks like her masters will have to be deferred for 12mnths.GeordieGeorge said:Why not lend it to her from your savings and have her pay it back over whatever schedule she can afford? Thanks for replying, she has rung student finance. She technically isn't in hardship now as she is at home and as a household the earnings are over £23,000.sheramber said:Let us know as soon as you can if you’re in financial hardship. She was told she needs to pay back the money within 2 years starting as immediate repayment plan which isn't ideal starting a masters. We all know there is no additional finance for masters so she needs every penny.
