Hi I won a small claims case in 2017 ,but have received one payment only ,this was through using The Sherriffs, they then gave up , the individual i sued scammed my son of £1800 even though he knew he had cancer and was using his grans small inheritance to buy printing equipment so he could come off benefits .i would like to persue this but don’t know what to do now, i tried those pay as you go solicitors but they weren’t helpful at all.

Are you in Scotland given the mention of Sheriffs or are you in England and it just happens to be your chosen company is called Sheriffs?
What was the total debt?0 -
Does your son live you you, and do you have any legal expenses cover?
I would not give up on pay-as-you-go solicitors if you have only had one failure. The other option is Non-Win, No Fee, but there are risks with using such firms. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
