Another day, another phone call “your offer has been rejected”!
I’m very very VERY tempted to just say “sod it”, & take my property off the market, & not bother anymore because I’m being pushed out left right & centre. I’ve sold to investors, at the almost exchange & complete stage, £95k deposit, mortgage ready to go, submitting asking price, & YET vendors aren’t interested in selling to me. Why?? :-:-1:
I’m not sure how much more of this ridiculous market I can cope with. Seeing people ‘brag’ about their new house, is infuriating, benefitting from the SD, & here I am 9 months later STILL struggling to secure anything decent.

Rant over. Anyone else? :-/

How was the price advertised? Was it really a full asking price offer? It is unusual for an asking price offer to be rejected without at least going to "best and final offers" first.0

At this rate, living on the moon is looking more likely!!0

I feel your pain I’ve stepped away from it for a while. I may end up completely priced out of my area but what can you do?0

Don't give up it can be really frustrating. My sister had her offer turned down and the agent called her back that the sale fell through. Hang on there something will come up.0

EA called me & said vendors decided to go with someone who put in more ££. I wasn’t even asked if my offer was final, which isn’t fair.
<shrug> Why not?
They offered more. Their offer was accepted.
If the boot was on the other foot, you offered slightly higher than them, would you be happy to go into a "best and final" race "to squeeze every last bit out of you", or would you just be happy your offer was accepted?0 -

The EA kept going on about it, as the vendor was burnt previously - house fell through because cosmetic work needed.Price war, at least it would have been fair. I wasn’t even given the opportunity to raise my offer which I could have done. At least then I could feel I was given a fair chance which I wasn’t on this occasion. That is why I’m partially annoyed. It’s dog eat dog at the moment which I understand but it should be fair.0 -

EA waffle. Whether true or not, irrelevant.Price war, at least it would have been fair. I wasn’t even given the opportunity to raise my offer which I could have done. You each put the same number of offers in.
The higher was accepted.
Or are you assuming that the other buyer knew the amount of your offer? You have zero indication of that, except that it was on the RM ad...
Do you even know they knew you had offered?
"Dog eat dog" would have been if it'd been a best-and-final squeeze of every last penny. As it is, you're complaining you weren't given an opportunity to pay more.2 -

I called and made an offer straight away, as I know the property and etc. So the other people would have been made aware an offer was already on the table, as EAs I’m led to believe are required to notify other prospective buyers.3) I’m complaining (in general) of the whole fiasco with the house situation at the moment - this isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this. I’m simply having a rant, like many others who are in the same situation up and down the country.0
