Mis-Sold RAC Cover from Trade Centre Wales
In 2019, I put down £3K deposit on a car with Trade Centre Wales and the remainder of the price (£2K) was on finance via a TCW partner. Two years go by and I thought I was close to paying off the remainder of the sale price via the finance option so asked for a statement. It transpired that £999 of my deposit had been used to pay for an RAC plan that I did not agree to. This plan was included in the contracts but I signed them as I was assured that everything included in them was exactly what had been discussed.
I've now been told that I can cancel my plan as a goodwill gesture and get back £277 of the £1000 but is there anything else I can do? I have signed the legal documents but was told at the time they didn't include anything that hadn't been discussed and signed them in good faith - have I got a leg to stand on here?

Is the RAC plan breakdown assistance, warranty, or both?
What is the period covered? 3 years?0 -
The plan was included in the contract you signed, but you didn't read before signing.Missold101 said:Hi, first post here and seeking advice:

Two years later, I think you're doing well to get a nearly 30% refund.
Two years later, relying on competing memories of verbal assurances carries no weight compared to the tangible paperwork.0 -
Didn't you query why you were paying £5k (£3k + £2k) for a car that was listed as being sold at £4k? (That's based on your numbers that £999 was not part of the sale price)Missold101 said:Hi, first post here and seeking advice:

They don’t stay in the job very long unless they have that ‘chameleon’ like ability.
Don’t believe a word they say you until you’ve double-checked and even treble-checked everything for yourself.
They’ll milk you dry if you let them,...and they smile while they’re doing it.
