Hi all
Well got a guy in to quote for removal of old worktops and supply and fitting of new laminate worktop (formica). Quick length sizes are as follows:
breakfast bar 2m
sink piece 1.9 m
cooker piece 0.6 and 0.86 m
utility pieces 0.57m and 3.93m
Plus fitting of new sink with new taps. Said it would take about day and half (on his own).
Quote came out as matt finish laminate top £777.
Is this good?
Still waiting for other quote to come in.
Thanks

worktop quote
if you break down the costing it will give you a better idea.
you need one breakfast bar top formica £ 100
two times formica tops @ £100 each £ 200
new sink taps and waste approx £ 150
ive paid more than that for taps
alone,
plumbing bits needed, plus labour,
removal of rubish off site £ 50
materials approx £500 so labour looks cheap
you could buy cheap laminate tops but a false economy.0 -
Two years ago I replaced my kitchcen surfaces. It included extractor, hoob, sink but not tap. I didn't have as much surface as you have, it costed me L1,100. So, two years on your quote seems fair0

It also depends upon where you live.
We live up North and my husband charges around 150 per day for this type of job. He knows a kitchen fitter who works on new builds and earns over 2000 a week fitting small kitchens in flats.0
