Hi all, recently changed provider sky to plusnet. As I'm on the end of the line the signal is not brill (14-18meg) I am unable to get the plug-in extender/repeaters to work anymore. It appears there is some sort of password conflict going on or I dont know what I'm doing which is more likely. I have pulled in an ethernet cable ( netgear extender has a port) works for a while but then fails. Happy to purchase new piece of kit providing I know it will resolve the problem. Any help gratefully recieved

Tried factory re-set, same issue
Plusnet FHZT router
Netgear AC1200 extender model EX6 1200 -
Is the query you are posting related to the PlusNet 14-18meg broadband coming into your home being ropey or is the broadband stable and its extending it through your home with the Netgear that is the issue?
Thanks

If it were me, I would do the following.
(If you have more then one extender then just concentrate on one for now)
Factory reset the Netgear extender
Unplug Netgear extender.
Plug in the netgear in the same room, or close to, the router for initial connection and setup.
You then have two options - auto setup or manual setup
Once connected using either of these methods, move the Netgear extender to its desired location.
Auto setup - do as you have done before.
Manual setup
On your laptop connect directly to the Netgear wifi - I think it will be called NETGEAR_EXT.
On your lap top type the following web address
https://www.mywifiext.net/
Follow the manual setup wizard - you will need your plusNet wifi passwords to complete this - im not sure if they still ask you to create a 'netgear account' using your email address but that should be no problem.
Once setup and working, test connection with Netgear in its present location, if OK, unplug it and move to desired location.
I have a couple of recommendations for devices that have worked a treat for me but the setup is largely the same so see how you get on with the above.
Post back with any issues and at what stage, I am sure we will be able to advise.
Hope this helps.
