Hi there just looking for some advice. My credit file is in the best shape it’s ever been, ie no defaults, no hard searches, electoral role etc and clear score is saying 553/700
i have 53% utilisation on credit cards that Id like to transfer the balance but I can’t get anything on soft search. It’s sAying I’m not eligible for anything,
Any ideas why this could be
thanks in advance

1. Ignore the score.
2. Try and use soft searches/eligibility checks on individual card sites rather than using whichever credit ref agency you are using (presumably ClearScore)
3. Your utilization is quite high, this will influencing the soft search results from ClearScore, and the trouble with balance transfers is that there's a danger of getting the new card, transferring the balance, then running up debt on the original card again. Carrying any sort of balance on a credit card is a bad thing.0 -
