Hi Everyone - hopefully someone can help me as I've now spent basically two days on the internet to no avail...

Our family (2 adults and 2 kids) are going to Majorca on 10th July, returning 17th July.

The requirement for this is, in it's simplest form, no test to go, test with 72 hours of return flight, test on day 2 after return.

Unbelievably, I cannot find a single supplier who can sell me those 2 tests required or who seems to know what I need...

The pre return test (taken in Majorca) must:
meet performance standards of greater than or equal to 97 per cent specificity, greater than or equal to 80 per cent sensitivity at viral loads above 100,000 copies/ml

this could include tests such as:
•    a nucleic acid test, including a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test or derivative technologies, including loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) tests
•    an antigen test, such as a test from a lateral flow device

It must include the following information:

•    your name, which should match the name on your travel documents
•    your date of birth or age
•    the result of the test
•    the date the test sample was collected or received by the test provider
•    the name of the test provider and their contact details
•    confirmation of the device used for the test, or that the test was a PCR test

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE RECOMMEND A SUPPLIER WHO WILL SELL ME THOSE TWO TESTS!!!

What’s the problem, them not understanding what you need or lack of availability?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Both, really - everyone wants to see a kit with a pre departure test, a day 2 test and a day 8 test, etc - no one seems to just sell either individually "test before return" tests or even "test before return and day 2" tests...

Who are you flying with? Some of the airlines seem to be doing discounted kits that cover what you’re after.

You need to buy them separately.
for test before return either buy in Majorca or buy from one of the companies that will send you the test before travel and watch you take your test by video link. This can be an antigen test, rather than full PCR.
then buy a day 2 test from the many companies on the list that sell them.

the fact you can’t find anyone selling the 2 as a package, doesn’t mean you can’t buy separately.

There are many (U.K.) Facebook groups that will direct you to somewhere cheap and reliable to get your test in Majorca.

You will also need a pre-departure PCR tests for all members of your party who are not fully vaccinated. This is a new change coming in within the next 72 hours (i cant post links but look at Simon Calders Twitter for more info).
