Still left from original morning list are walking and bathing the dogs, and hoovering/ mopping. I will drop off DHs prescription request on the walk and I also thoroughly cleaned the cool box we used for yesterday's picnic. About to put last wash load on the line first.Spend less now, work less later.10
-
My first WM load is about to go out, and I have done all the hoovering and S&S'd the kitchen, bathroom and ensuite. I've also had a WA conversation with my youngest godchildren's mum
Prepare to be amazed - DH volunteered !!!!!! to steam mop the kitchen. he is in a good mood because he has lost another 5lb this week and has nearly got his BMI back down to 35 (requirement for his hip op)9 -
Just having a pack of crisps for lunch. The house smells of wet dog. Hoovering and mopping next. My steam mop has broken so back to mop and bucket for me which in a weird fly lady way I'm quite looking forward to.Spend less now, work less later.11

DM hugs xGeneral daily stuff doneA walk round local car boot with OH, then it chucked it down, I was going there to sell, glad I didn'tOther 'stuff' taken to local auction house, for lotting and a weekly sale, might sell in the future some of the inherited jewellery, as I don't really like it, not my style, no one currently in the family to leave it too, might as well turn it into money and spend / buy some thing I do want (which I have yet to find) off for thinking time.............New turf is doing well in this weatherBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

3-and-a-bit weeks to go. I knew this term was going to be hard but the weeks off (and illness) meant I wasn't as prepared as I would have liked.
dancemum - so sorry to hear what you're going through.
Flying - pots soaking in the sink.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear11 -
Oh Dancemum, you must be so desperate to just get him settled someone where he feels happy and you feel that he is being well cared for. You have had enough to cope with already.
Work has been tough going, but only 3 days left before I am off for a week. Took DS to his friends, on a farm in the absolute middle of nowhere, to watch footie. Thankfully he got a lift home.
Lots of washing done, everyone fed and kitchen tidied, our sheets changed. That will do for today.
Hope the BD moves on ASB x9 -
Thanks you for your support x
ASB my mp seems only good at expense claiming
GI lovely hair
Towels from DG’s washed and dried
still not had any answers to my questions and we set off to Castletown without knowing if we would be let in. On arrival we discovered manager was off sick. Place made as ready as we could do for DS2, there were workmen in it so team leader agreed to give it a clean when they left. She seemed lovely. She talked of him withdrawing £50 a week as far as I know even if goes some benefits he will only allowed to keep just under £25 a week. If they make him pay travel to college money at £16 per day, he definitely won’t have £50. We still don’t have anything in writing.
On way back we had lunch at a GC and DH bought me 2 plants and pots for my birthday as he has been panicking that he wasn’t prepared this year. I’m not in the mood for a birthday.
Tomorrow I will be on call at home, best friend is coming over for a coffee/chat.11 -
Hugs to those struggling, especially Dancemum and ASB.
GI lovely hair indeed. My family 'inheritance' ('inhairitance.....') is the opposite; all very thin and fine; mum and other relatives wore a wig quite early in life. I haven't done that yet although I do have a clip-on pony tail for 'events'.
Eek Tuesday already so will pair up the activities of both days.
Exercise: running yesterday, swimming today. Was meant to do Body Pump tomorrow but seems I am still 7th on the waiting list.
Flying: mainly Mr N yesterday who did the en suite and bedroom pretty well. Washing done. Washing up kept up with. Quite a bit of gardening done by both.
List: have booked eye specialist for Aug as the pressure was 1 point above normal last month.
have run contact lens place (I get 3 months worth on subscription) to ask what I do with 2 full boxes now my prescription has changed. After having to read out a small bar code on the main packaging (which I had, as they only arrived on Sat ) I was fairly incredulous to be asked to read out a similar bar code from the main packaging from April.......er, I recycle cardboard. Was impressed when I managed to find the delivery slip from April, which the guy said I've to wrap round the 2 boxes and take it into Boots. I didn't tell him I'd asked Boots on a previous occasion about returning excess lenses and they refused; I just hope it is their policy which changed.
Bargains: have been looking for a garden bench for a while as ours is falling apart. Found one at a garden centre not far from uni. I used to have their membership card, which gave 10% off. Couldn't find it so tried to renew on line as I knew it had expired. Computer said "have you ever been a member". "Yes". "Type in your membership number". How am I meant to know that without the card?? Anyway, I fought through that and carefully took the email to show the till while Mr N was waiting by said bench .....a grumpy staff member had grudgingly told him she would sent out another staff member to help. Till girl rang supervisor. Supervisor advised that I should phone customer services and ask for a new card (which I might have to pay for), but couldn't get discount today. Stomped back to Mr N who was still waiting for service. We were just debating whether to abandon it all, despite having driven 20 miles to get there, when staff member arrived. I told him the sorry tail and he said "Oh I can sort that out" and sent another lad with me to the till ........oh dear, grumpy woman again. She was not pleased when instructed to give me the 10% off..........now when I produced a £10 voucher as well......but any way I won and it is now home. Marathon or what?
Admin and work: Sorted out uni who told me one of my reports couldn't be opened by the student; I tried it and it opened; admin tried it too....
Culled a load more emails.
Scored up my final 2 assessments ready to write up.
Finished an online course.
Did a few flagged emails.
Enjoying most of the song suggestions but I'm with Pigpen regarding Whitney. I'm still wrestling with my Afro-Cuban drumming homework (I'd asked for Zumba music; last week he gave me Bossa Nova and this week apparently will be Samba!!).Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Morning xx
Running late but I'm showered, dressed and heading out of the door.
Bed is made. Birds will be fed.
Today's pick of the pops: Soley, Soley by Middle of the Rosd or Shotgun by George Ezra.
Hugs

Woke up far too early with itchy eyes. Made and drank a cuppa, then drifted in and out of sleep until 7.45, dreaming of spiders - probably brought on by the receipt of an appointment letter I received yesterday inviting me to a glaucoma assessment clinic in August.
I did quite a number of jobs off my list yesterday, including extra washing bring the total to WMx5!!!! The last load has hung out overnight and is drying well. Friend A brought us some really tasty dolmades and salad, then stayed until 4.00 pm - which put an end to my intentions of a siesta followed by weeding the back border. I wouldn't have minded if I hadn't been tired even before her arrival, and it's hard work conversing with her because everything revolves round her family problems, all ground we've been over many times before and for which there is nothing we can do. I have told DH that next week I will take her out for lunch, then at least we will have new things to look at and talk about.
So today's plan is:
- WMx1 (towels)
- finish filing and admin, including chasing up 2 firms re access to their websites
- dust the study (hoovered yesterday)
- bank and MrB chemist (buy lubricating eye drops)
- possible lunch out with DH, depending on what time I get back from town
- possible siesta
- gardening
- Rosie's walk
Hope everyone has a good day. Sticks thrown for BDs. Catch up later xx10
