This is an “over the garden fence” type
thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit
more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to
discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve
achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet
up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join
us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Good morning, it's another wet and gloomy start today.,I hope it picks up a bit because we 're going down to N Yorks coast in the caravan tomorrow, DD is already there, though further south then we are going and she said it was hot and sunny yesterday. They'll be coming home today.Yesterday was ok, did what I wanted to get done. I went to the shops for some bread and had a look in a few charity shops while I was out, didn't buy anything though.Today we'll take some stuff over to the van and do a bigger shop, I'm saying bigger, there's not really much I need.Hope you've enjoyed your time at home Gers, it looks lovely, and Bella, hope you enjoyed your evening with friends last night.Have a good Sunday folks, and take care.10

Morning everyone
ScarlettRibbons - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Cloudy overcast start to the day. More rain is forecast for today.
DH watching catchup tv, I'm enjoying my first cuppa. DS1 still in his pit. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was herbed chicken breasts, with sides of pasta in a tomato sauce and veg rice. Today we're having roast beef with new potatoes and all the normal. We were lazy yesterday afternoon but did pick the first broad beans and peas from the garden which we'll have with the roast beef. We can see the courgettes and runner beans are coming but not ready yet.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Two threads, very confusing! Perhaps someone could merge them?
Very productive yesterday, went to Ikea to get the broken fixings, worked on the allotment for a while then sorted my own garden. Although it wasn't very sunny it was fairly warm but the midges were out until there was a bit of a breeze. Washing dried and put away, I've just done the bit of ironing I had.
Hope you have a good break in your caravan Scarlett.
Glad you got home for a bit of peace and quiet Gers, sorry you lost your purse, such a hassle getting all the cards cancelled.
I'm going to meet DS1 halfway to collect the DGC, really looking forward to having them here this week - we have lots planned and the weather looks like it will be quite good, maybe I can prise DGS out of his wellies! Going to meet up with DD and the little one a few times too, she loves to see her big cousins. Swimming tomorrow, also have a couple of lovely parks to visit and a trip to the beach so picnics and fresh air should see them sleep!
First I have to do some shopping both for me and friends, 2 trollies should be interesting!
Have a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX10 -
Morning everyone
Just a quickie as I need to go down to sit with dad soon as mam is going to church. I have washing to peg out before I go - it looks as if it will be a nicer day than yesterday. It rained most of the day and was so cold - I gave in early evening and put the heating on for a few hours. Went out for tea with DD and little one - she sat lovely in her high chair people watching. DD asked for a plate for her to have some of ours - DDs arrived, then mine....then she saw the lady coming with another plate and her face lit up - oh dear the look of disappointment when it was empty! 'Me got no tea' she said - DD quickly put some on before she cried!
Better move, hope everyone has a good day9 -
Morning, Hugs if you need one. Gers, pleased you decided to go home for a night, its awful loosing your purse, having to report cards etc.
Well disaster struck last evening, I walked rounf the corner to water the hanging baskets, as I got to them the far one fell off, pulled everything out of the wall!! Had I been a bit further on it would have hit me!!. The plants all look ok, one bit of fuchsia broke off I stripped it down and have it in water, will pot it up and see if it survives.
I have had 2 bad nights in a row, not sure why, was awake again this morning for a couple of hours.
Supper today is roast chicken and potato's cauli, carrots and peas. The dessert isd predictable at the moment, strawberries and cream.7 -

Hello all, it's dry but windy at the moment although we've been promised monsoon rain, we'll see if that materialises. All my tasks were completed yesterday and I made a banana cake then covered it with chocolate frosting mmmm. Tea was a beefburger for himself and a chicken burger for me, followed by a slice of cake.Today will be a quiet day doing nothing or very little anyway, except getting ready for another full on week of appointments. 8 down 12 to go ! All of them this week are at lunchtime, except on Friday which is another early one, unless they change any beforehand. I'm grateful that all the late teatime ones were changed, would have been a nightmare getting home on the M4. The only trouble with the mid morning ones is that I can't get stuck into anything, only keep us ticking over. Oh well c'est la vie.Anyway I wish everyone a good week ahead.Take care allnan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -
I got a pack of ys smoked bacon out of the freezer - will have it in buttered tiger rolls with fried eggs and baked beans - easy and yummy. After years of Sunday roasts - so nice just to have what we fancy.
Mr F will do some work in the office this afternoon - works from home so no commuting journey for him plus he can wear what he likes - shorts today.
I am part way though another crochet hat.
I started to read a new book last night - Christmas theme.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
