This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning folks.Another restless night with too much whirling in my head.Yesterday morning the fridge freezer and big leather chair were taken away by the son of DM's cleaner. I'm just happy that he can use them. Once they had gone I did another charity shop run and then posted off the final three parcels to Berlin. In the afternoon the company which had done the photography and floor plan for the estate agent sent a different person round to redo the floor plan. Turns out that not one measurement on the first one was correct, every room was bigger. There were cupboards and fireplaces missed off too. The whole thing was simply rubbish. Now the new one is accurate and professional so I'm much happier about it.Today is more of the same...clearing out yet more stuff. There's two more big bags for Barnardos whilst the huge pile in the kitchen won't go until Tuesday. That's all going to a local church which equips vulnerable people moving into new accommodation. It's cloudy here so there could be rain waiting to fall. Whatever the weather I hope thst everyone has a happy Saturday.14

Morning everyone
Gers - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Cloudy overcast start to the day. More rain is forecast for today.
DH watching catchup tv, I'm enjoying my first cuppa< DS1 still in his pit. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was breaded chicken, chips and beans for the menfolk. I had an omelette with a filling of the LO grammon, and mushrooms with a salad. Tonight I'm not sure what we'll be having, I'll find something.
Keep safe and well x

Hi Gers and NMLC and anyone else to follow,
I've been awake since 4.45 despite feeling really tired. I've been a bit under the weather with an itchy rash on my neck, probably one of these winter viruses picked up from Esben who seems to be catching everything going at nursery at the moment. So not a lot happening here, we will be collecting Crystal's cat to look after while they are at the Yorkshire house for a few days. Chris will be 35 on Monday, how old does that make me feel, and they are planning to walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks with Crystal's sister and partner.
I'm hand sewing an English paper patchwork while I'm watching television in the evenings and last night I realised that the diagram I'm following on the latest piece is wrong so I had to take some of it apart which was a bit frustrating. Oh well I'm not on a deadline for it.
I'm going to go back to bed and see if I can get another hour or so asleep so have a good day everyone.13 -

Good morning, it's wet here, yesterday was cold and wet all day, had to put the fire on last night. Thanks for starting Gers, you're still powering on.Sorry to see you're not well Snoozer, hope you manage to catch up on sleep.I'm pleased to see that you are nearly at the end of a stressful time Bella, hope you enjoy your evening with friends.I had a friend round last night, and we had a lovely chat - in normal times we would meet up a couple of times a week, with other friends. Sadly, she's had some bad news about her health, and is now waiting to see her consultant about what happens next.Today it'll just be shopping and a bit of housework, and getting a few thing together to put in the caravan for going away on Monday. We're only away till next Saturday, but in our climate you pack for all seasons.Hope everyone has a good day - take care folks13

Morning folks and thanks GERS for the new Daily. Dare I say it but you sound at last to be on the home straight. It's been a toil no question.
The gardens look fresher after yesterday morning's rain. It's been a long time coming! It felt cold all day yesterday, or is it me getting soft in my old age! It's a cloudy start here but sun is forecast later and the temp set to reach 21 deg.
I'm making my usual little bus trip into town this morning. Not much is needed but it gets me out of the house and we can put the world to rights as usual on the bus down!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. SNOOZER I read yesterday that winter virus's among children are rife. Hope you soon feel better. Good luck to C & C, it reminded me of walking over Ingleborough when I was a child. I was 11 and had a broken arm, with it encased in plaster shoulder to wrist for my walk! Thinking of all our poorlies and poorly loved ones. Take care one and all x

Morning All
Dull this morning but should stay dry, my bedding is going on the line shortly then it's a shower and back to Ikea, a couple of the fixings broke so need to get some new ones.
Got the bed built but can't really get the room to look right, I've changed the beds about a couple of times - it'll have to do for now, they are too heavy to keep shifting about on the carpet. It's the only room with carpet, the rest have wooden floors, not sure how this one was missed out. When I win the lottery (that I don't do), I'll have it changed!
Glad the move is going well bella, enjoy your catch up.
Glad you're making progress Gers.
Allotment to visit today and some shopping to do for me, I'll do friends' shopping tomorrow if they can last that long, it's too confusing for me to do two lots at the same time.
Have a happy Saturday, take care. XX11 -
Morning Hugs if you need one, espeicially those of you who are under the weather.
There must be something in the air, I had a very bad night last night. Went off to sleep about 10.30 but woke after midnight raring to go!! got back to sleep after 3am.
Yesterday we had rain in the afternoon, the Gardener was only here for an hour, we took the clippers to rose bushes in our neighbours garden, cut 3 roses and dug them out, they are soaking in a bucket waiting to be potted up. Our neighbour is doing away with the beds round the front garden and asked if we wanted the roses. Do not need all of them. I also dog out a clematis to plant on our side of the fence. I will pot that up too to allow it to recover.
Its a dull morning and rather chilly. Looks like it might rain later.
Supper tonight will be belly pork casserole, mash and veggies. We are still eating strawberries........6 -
Morning all
Another one who had a bad night here I was awake at 4 till 7 but then managed to go back off. OH has gone to the boot sale so im sitting here peacefully with a cuppa, will get some breakfast after this.
I have the dentist this afternoon to see the hygenist this appointment was first booked before the first lockdown and has been cancelled and rearranged many times, I would rather not go on a Saturday as it breaks the day up but the next available appointment during the week was in November !! so today it is.
I have a towel wash on the go and suprisingly its sunny today (they forcast rain) so it can go out on the line, we need to have a clean through and then OH can take the dog out while I am at the dentist.
BBQ for dinner tonight seeing as we have a sunny day I must go and get some bits out of the freezer, I will do a vegetable rice to go with it for a change.
Bella you have done so well xxx
Gers keep up the good work you must be on the home straight xxx
Have good days all xxx10 -
Morning allYesterday we had an early appointment so I had time to run around the house like a lunatic cleaning and sorting things. I emptied out 2 bedroom cupboards and sorted things into keep, bin or recycle and now there are several things that await re-homing via the cs, including a dozen books that I know I won't read. I really don't understand how things can get dusty while lounging inside a closed cupboard, it's one of those mysteries of life I suppose. I also cleaned and cleared out my condiment/spice cupboard in the kitchen, lots of spices and nearly empty bottles have been removed and all the containers washed and kept or recycled. I found a black treacle tin dated 2012 at the back
I finally removed the last of the wallpaper border in the bedroom too and I have decided the wall behind the bed now needs to be a feature wall, the other walls will be painted in a different colour, again. Now that's all ready for when the appointments stop and we can draw breath again.
Today I had a bit of a lie in, but now I have stripped the bed and started up the wm as there is the bedding to do and a load of clothes. Hopefully it will remain dry although we could have showers..... Oh well you pays your money and takes your choice ! The dw also wants emptying and I need to make some cake, there's not a crumb in the house although I did decide to weigh myself this morning and was pleasantly surprised to find that I have lost weight, no time to get my hand in the cookie jar I suppose 😂Snoozer sorry you're under the weather, I hope you feel better soon.Bella I hope your move went well and you now have time to relax and enjoy your new home.Gers I hope you can get some rest today, you're doing so well.Hugs to the poorly ones or thse in need.Take care allnan xx
