    It might be any of these mad combinations that their algorithms have detected as having a larger risk than an existing customer, and might specifically be around opening new accounts rather than reviews of existing accounts.

    I'm not sure what else you're expecting someone to tell you?
    I don't know; that is the purpose of this thread. You shouldn't assume others don't know what you don't know.

    You could try closing your account - and then in 6 months start with a new application for the card you want. It seems it's not as though you NEED the card - it's just the card that you want. If they then say no, move on to another provider. Nobody is guaranteed anything when it comes to credit facilities - even if we think we fit the bill, and it seems nonsensical why they'd decline us.
