If you've had a phone line reconnected for broadband and the engineer has said that there was a " routing problem at the exchange , so your broadband switch on will be delayed, ".should you pay the connection fee as the fault isn't in your property?

Yes. The connection fee isn't for faults, but for connecting the line.2

How can I ask them to split the fee over a few months instead of a 1 off payment? How do I word it? TIA0

Did they tell you there was a connection fee when you took out the line or are they now charging you one because of the problem at the exchange?
Which company is this with and how much are they charging for connection?

They told me before Christmas the connection fee would be £93 but now the fee is at £60. It's a new flat I'm in as was homeless for 4 months last year0

Just ask them if it is possible to pay over 6 months or whatever time scale you can afford.1
