I had rent out a property the initial rental agreement ended last month and the tenant continue to stay and in general is it necessary for me to extend it by draftup/sending a new tenancy agreement, if not would this affect the landlord insurance, and/or have implication on other things that I am not aware of? The tenant was found by a local property agent advertisment, creditcheck, deposit protection scheme in place
thanks.
I was myself renting for a while previously the landlords were never borthered about this (all initial processes were same as above)

No. It automatically becomes either a SPT or a CPT depending on the terms in the original agreement. Read...

If the initial tenancy was an Assured Shorthold Tenancy, then you don't need to do anything. The tenancy has converted to a Statutory Period Tenancy and will just continue until either you or your tenant give notice. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
