thanks.  yes it is a challenge learning remotely, especially on complex stuff.
the issue for me is the style of training,  as we share screens and go through our problems in the afternoon as a Q & A style.  but then the first person who gets in can be doing their work (with trainer assistance), and we all watching,   but before you know it 1 hour has passed.  in that time i just want to be practicing on my own work, but you can't do it in background as you've got as far as you can.
whilst i can see why they do it (so you see a variety of situations),  it kinda becomes a bit pointless as everyone has thier own sticking points.  having said that,  i have found doing 1-2-1 this week on aspects to be more helpful.
the other issue is the lenght of sessions / lack of break.  sometimes it can be over 2 hours, and that for me is just too much to maintain focus.  am i alone in thinking that?
also have gotten to speak to couple others in group, and they said they are confused. so i guess that's good it's not just me.
so fingers crossed it will come together.
    thanks.

I'm not sure what format the training is in but if your learning a software package then can you have two screens setup and follow along while the training is happening?. I've had training before and I've found following along and using the software (even when they don't intend you too) makes it far easier to learn and having a second screen is essential.

Decent training will explain the purpose of what you are doing and why, then they will guide you through how to do it and finally provide you with the materials (e.g. detailed guides) on how to do it yourself and you give you time to practice and ask any questions.
Some training can be as poor as simply telling you, click here, then here, then here... which really doesn't help you much because it's difficult to remember a series of actions if you don't know why your doing them.

So the quality of training can be a big factor in how difficult you find it.

yes i am going to mention it to my trainer as i think they just not aware of the time.  whilst i can't be 100% sure, it does seem other people in the group look a bit out of it too when i see them on camera, so i don't think it can just be me.

Click here, then click here, then click here... Thank you for that, Tokmon.

All this time I thought I was thick because I could not just get it the first time.  Garbage training in a company that treated their staff like, well, garbage.  I think I realised, after a while, that I was not the problem but it is all moot now.  Maybe all this will help those for whom it is not too late; I hope so.

OP, don't be intimidated; stand up for yourself and, possibly, ask the other trainees how they are feeling if that is an option.  To do so in front of the trainer might just get them to realise their course is not fulfilling its purpose.  So much easier to do in a real, live room, I know but you cannot be the only person who thinks this course could be better run, surely.

    I wish you luck.
