Negative PCR test within 72 hours to fly to Greece

Hi, wonder if anyone can tell me exactly what time is meant by a negative PCR test to fly to Greece from England? Does it mean the time the plane sets off? (what if it's delayed)? Or does it mean the time the plane lands?

Due to a prior commitment it might not be possible to take the test 48 hours before instead so want to get timings correct.

    • Clealry states within the 72 hour period before arrival into Greece;

    • Arrivals from the UK must provide either: proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test, undertaken within the 72 hour period before arrival into Greece; proof of a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test from an authorised laboratory, undertaken within the 48 hour period before the scheduled flight; or proof of two COVID-19 vaccinations completed at least 14 days before travel (see Demonstrating your COVID-19 vaccination status). Travellers with proof of either are exempted from the need to self-isolate on arrival to Greece.

    Yes I'd read that , but what does it mean? I was going to take teenager to Boots, if she's due to arrive in Greece at 4pm on a Monday, does that mean she can only go to Boots to get the test after 4pm on the Friday? What if the plane is delayed and she arrives at say 7pm and the test was taken at 4.30pm on the Friday making it longer than 72 hours.

    Then it's outside the 72 hour limit.

    Ok, so the tests are timed? I just need to know this before I book the wrong thing.
