Varies hugely. My searches took 3 weeks to come back and then another 2 weeks for solicitor to review the information.

There are a number of searches that are carried out and will take anything from a few hours to a number of weeks or more for them to be made, plus the chance that the results may lead to further enquiries being made.

"The north west" doesn't help much - if you tell us which council it is, someone might know their current turnaround times.
  • Thanks for some of your answers! I'm Lancashire. Was just looking at a rough time. Our original moving date was the end of July. I'm now thinking that's looking optimistic!?

This site can tell you average council turnaround times but that doesn't mean anything if the searches throw up more enquiries.
Or if there are other enquiries that need to be answered, completely separate from searches

Our local authority searches were coming from West Lancashire CC and they took the longest. All of our searches were requested on the 25/05 and the groundsure search and water search were both received within the week but the local authority search from the Council wasnt received until the 14/06.
  • Thanks purple butterfly. That's helpful. 😊🦋
