Notice between exchange and completion

Options
Hi everyone. I know there have been posts about this, but I did not find my exact situation. We just exchange and looking to complete in 2 weeks time. We are first time buyers and we have only applied with my partner's income, as I was furloughed at the time. I am. thinking of giving my notice now and my last day would be after completion anyway. Do you think it is safe to do? So only my husbands income was considered but I am. wondering if the lender would. check my employment before completion. Thank you.

If they weren't interested in your employment in the first place, why would they check now?
  • Well, it is mentioned that I am. employed full time. The mortgage broker mentioned this. Wondering if I should ask the broker or the solicitor about this...

As you used a broker, yes - check with them. They'll be best placed to answer.

It could make a difference I think (OP should check with broker). A few years back, I was on a fixed term contract rather than a permanent contract. My salary wasn't counted for the application but the lender was made aware I was employed. The difference being that it meant I didn't count as a dependant, so they'd lend more to my partner.
  • Right. This is a good point. I will check. with the broker then. Thank you.
