Hi there, I am hoping someone can offer some advice....
My surfing and yoga holiday was cancelled due to covid. I initially asked the company for a refund but they said they were not able to do this and could only offer a travel voucher. I took this voucher and rebooked for July/August this year. It now looks unlikely that we will be able to travel so I have sent the company numerous emails asking to postpone until next year. Ideally we would take a refund but given the response of last years request I have opted not to ask for this. I paid the initial booking via bank transfer as that was the company policy.
A little bit more context, when I initially booked and was due to go I had comprehensive travel insurance, this I believe covered cancellations and was taken out pre-covid. Since then, for obvious reasons I have not taken out a travel insurance policy so I am currently uninsured.
Anyone's advice would be gratefully receieved on either
- seeking a refund when I believe I was wrongly forced to take a voucher instead of a refund in the first instance
- who I should contact regarding the lack of contact recently enquiring about rebooking my rescheduled holiday

It's in Morocco who I suspect will not make the green list0

Although not mentioned, I am guessing you have booked this holiday with a small travel firm. Have you read the terms and conditions for booking?
Did the unnamed travel firm arrange the flights to Morocco and sell you a packaged trip or sold you just the yoga retreat and you sorted out your own way of travel?
You may not have been entitled to a refund on the original holiday, so them telling you that you could only move your holiday may well be correct. What makes you think you had the right to a refund? Was this laid out in the booking conditions, or is your holiday booked with a U.K. tour operator who generally follows FCDO travel guidance?
Who cancelled the original holiday? They as the travel organiser or You as there was a travel restriction in place at the time?
Did you consider a claim on your original travel insurance for your original holiday when not being able to go?

What Westin said.
In addition, the Green list is not the definitive legal list for whether you're entitled to a refund even if a package (where you have more rights). The FCDO list is, which is a completely different set of countries to the list compiled under the colour system.
The current situation is that Morocco will let you in (click here), but there is also an advisory against travel at this time.💙💛 💔0
