Hopefully this is a straight forward one.

Have a booking with Ryanair for flights in July which was originally scheduled for 12 months ago. We had to move them due to covid.

Ryanair have notified me of a change to our flight times so they have offered us 3 choices, one being a refund. I'm happy to accept refund in vouchers as we do want to use them when its safe to do so / better flight times.

My question is: Will the refund be for the original booking costs or will it be the original booking PLUS the admin fees we paid to move the flights due to Covid? The fee was £180.00

Thanks

I believe you'll get minus the fees, as this was a voluntary change.

Also, don't accept vouchers. Ryanair are (or at least were) selling flights at more expensive prices for those booking with them. You'll also be tying yourself to one provider, whereas Wizz are often cheaper and Easyjet are on occasion, depending on where you're flying to/from.

did Ryanair cancel the flight or did it operate but you could not travel? (if the latter there is no refund due and any claim would be from your travel insurance if policy covers the situation)
did you book direct with Ryanair?

Their first post was about 30 mins ago on the "when can I post links" thread in competitions time and it was followed by 13 posts, some on old threads, some just agreeing with the last post or promoting the "whocalledyou" site, Ryanair doesn't seem to be a major concern for them

I have spoke with Ryanair and i get the full amount back including the admin fees.
I have just requested a refund. It did not give me an option of voucher or cash.

I'm happy to travel with Ryanair. I know exactly what they are like and what to expect and also they are the only suitable operator out of East Midlands for us to Alicante.

I'm in no immediate rush for the refund so will see how it goes before chasing them.

    Thanks for your input

That's fine. My point was simply that it'll very likely be cheaper to book with cash than a voucher, as many found last year. This is a money saving forum.

I am glad you have resolved the matter to your satisfaction, and it's good to know that Ryanair have changed their practice.
