TV Aerial Help!

Options
Hello, looking for some help please :s our TV signal is shocking. Missing most channels and loosing channels all the time. We thought we would see if there is a self fix before paying someone to come out!

I've attached photos of our aerial in our attic and the box it's all connected to. Looks pretty ancient! (inherited with our house).

The aerial is fixed in location so can't be turned (that was our first thought that it had been misaligned)  :#

Any help appreciated! We are clueless...

If it is misaligned it needs turning to correct it. If that's not the case try an aerial amplifier, powered is best.
    Cant see your pics.

You already have a powered amp. try checking all the connections.

Have you tried all the aerial sockets, you seem to have 4 connected

Have you recently moved into the house? if so have you moved very far you may just need to  re-tune your TVs, eg if you have moved from the West Midlands to East Midlands etc ( I know Clipstone but thats another story)

Will a new amp improve things? This one looks pretty old!

We have 2 of the 4 sockets in use and they are both as bad as each other... One is in a room being renovated no idea where the 4th is!!

Try each TV without the amp and if they work when receiving their own dedicated signal add aerials for each one, rather than trying to boost the signal from one aerial to serve too many TVs.

Huh how many aerials can they put in the loft. 4 TVs from 1 aerial is not too many.

"....rather than trying to boost the signal from one aerial to serve too many TVs."

Clearly this has been successful in the recent past; if you have not tried anything yet -
    - the aerial has not moved or detiorated in any way. It's not the first time I've had a small TV in the loft which you could try but probably wasted effort.
    - your weak point is co-ax (coaxial) connectors; the aluminium oxidises and gives very poor contact on the screen side; I'm guessing on an installation at least 15years old.

If you are up to it, replace all five.

In the days of analogue tranmissions you could indentify weak signal easily - digital you can't.
