Narrow (50cm) wide washing machine needed

Just purchased a flat which has plumbing ready for washing machine with maximum width of 50cm. The only narrow ones I can find are top loaders but they won't fit under the worktop. When I googled for a "narrow washing machine" the only ones that come up are narrow depth - does anyone know of a washing machine with a maximum width of 50cm please?

Good spot, but that's only 3kg.  Ok if OP lives alone, but big things such as bath sheets may have to be washed one at a time.

The space has probably been used for a narrow dishwasher rather than a washing machine in the past. The space is pretty much useless for a washing machine.

So what reasonable alternatives does that leave the OP?

If it was indeed a WM plumbed into the space it would have been considerate for the vendor to have sold it on to the OP.

Find a different spot for the washing machine or start moving cupboards to make the gap bigger.

Thanks for your comments. Now wondering if what I thought was the outlet pipe for the washing machine is actually for a dishwasher. Photo below, can anyone advise please.

The silver tap with a blue handle is the water supply, and the grey thing on the white pipe is the waste connection.

In theory you can plumb in either a dishwasher or washing machine.  But there are very few washing machines less than 60cm in width, so the space may only be suitable for a 45cm dishwasher.

Can you take a photo from a bit further back - it might be an easy job to move or swap a cupboard to make the gap bigger.

Sink to right & narrow cupboard to left but has loads of pipes etc in it. Some from boiler which is in cupboard above narrow cupboard.

Found old photo on Internet so previous owners had wm there.

It's my son's flat and he'll probably replace kitchen in 6 to 12 months so looking for temporary solution without using laundrette that won't cost to much. Thanks.

If your son can live with it then buy a normal size washing machine (if he is thinking of integrated then buy an integrated one ready) and buy longer inlet and outlet hoses then just have the washing machine sat out from the space. Not sure if this is possible?

Alternatively take the skinny cupboard out that houses all the boiler pipework to allow enough room for the washing machine? You may need to put it supports for the work surface but as its being replaced in 6-12 months it doesnt matter if its just wooden supports. If that waste pipe boxes out rather than down (cant tell 100% on the photo) then that may need altering

FYI - The washing machine in the photo looks like the Zanussi one quoted above

You actually have two feeds, then one from the pipe above and you can just about see another one poking below the waste pipe. I suspect one of them is a hot water feed but annoyingly they both have blue taps on them. It can be used for a washing machine or dishwasher.

Also the plug faceplate on the RH side looks well dodgy and should be replaced.
