Section 75 advice please

Can anyone help me or share their experiences please, as I've looked on the Section 75 page on this website and others but can't seem to find an answer.
Can you claim under Section 75 for a part purchase made on a credit card when a specific brand and model of an item has been ordered and agreed, yet a cheaper generic product, which looks similar but has lower specifications, is provided and installed without any explanation? One component of this went wrong in three weeks and having been used twice, due to cheap materials being used, which the company concerned are looking into. I am currently taking the whole issue up with the company concerned, but am not holding my breath. I will contact trading standards too, but wanted to know if Section 75 might be another option.
Any advice really appreciated.

If you ordered and paid on the card and it meets the spending criteria of £100-£30,000 and the firm didn't supply the goods you paid for then yes, you could do
Steps would be
1) Complain to firm (which you have done but card firm will want you to do it) and perhaps agree replacement or partial refund
2) Chargeback (firm probably will dispute though as they have supplied something)
3) S75
Ensure you have all the evidence such as what you ordered and what was delivered in writing1 -
Goods not as described chargeback.
You need prove what you ordered (invoice etc) & what you received photo's deliver note etc.
That will be a lot quicker than S75Life in the slow lane0 -
So it sounds like you didn't just order an item but paid for a service of having the item supplied and fitted?snaver said:

What was the total cost? Was the cost broken down at all? If you were charged £99 for the part and £99 for fitting then there would be no cover as you've bought two things and neither were over £100.
A chargeback is almost certainly quicker but with the training of some front line bank staff could see certain challenges with getting it raised if you had separate item and fitting0 -

I think you need to explain further on exactly what was bought, how much, where from, what you got & what the issues are.Life in the slow lane0
