     Was hoping for something a teeny bit less expensive.

     Was hoping for something a teeny bit less expensive.  
    That kind of depends on what you view as "less expensive". If want cheap then just get some Harris or Albany sleeves.

    well, if it is something to throw away after use a £7 sleeve seems expensive for a 3m x 3m wall.

    Painting isn't my trade, so I usually get the cheaper ones from screwfix etc   rather than paying around £10 for a Wooster sleeve.

    Why would you throw it away? Yes, they can be a pita to clean afterwards but if you don't want to go to the trouble then just buy the cheapest ones you can get from B&Q or the likes.

    I  remember the painters spending half an hour at the end of play cleaning their rollers,  when we all worked on the cards, and tradesmen bought their own tools, but were paid by the hour.
    For a self employed painter spending half an hour cleaning the roller sleeve, probably doesn't make economic sense.
