I am going to get a second pair of glasses and will possibly try out Specsavers this time.luvchocolate said:Stick to AsdaCheck if Asda are doing any offers. For example, Specsavers do the 2 for 1 offer on glasses (above £69) which I recently took advantage of by buying a pair of reading glasses and a pair of prescription sunglasses. Total cost £89 (both pairs were £89 each).I can also buy another pair of glasses for half price for a limited period (I think 3 months). Not sure if offers are available on varifocals but it might be worth checking in Asda before you go somewhere different. But if Asda were so great, why would you want to go elsewhere anyway?0 -
I've worn Asda varifocals for at least five years now, never had a problem with them. I always get their offer for two pairs, one pair tinted to use as sunglasses. I work on a computer for 8 hours each day, they've been fine for me.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I have been a customer of Specsavers for quite a few years and always chose their tailor made lenses. I went for their 2 for 1 offer. My last glasses were bought nearly three years ago and I’ve never been really happy with them. Nothing wrong with the lenses but the frames didn’t fit me properly. The dispenser in Specsavers seemed poorly trained in my opinion. I should have complained at the time but I put up with the glasses.
Now that covid was receded somewhat and I’m double jabbed, I went for an eye test to Boots. I’ve chosen their prestige plus or some other title lenses. Anyhow, I think the lenses were something like £225. I get 25% off as a senior, bought sunglasses which were half price with the same lenses. The total was almost identical to my last purchase at Specsavers but the whole experience at Boots was far superior.
I am delighted with my new specs and will not return to Specsavers.1 -
