I came to the end of a 5 year investment with UBL and then requested it was transferred on maturity.
UBL have ignored my instructions and reinvested for another 5 years.
I have written and emailed numerous times but have made no progress.
When I call , they are polite and promise to escalate to resolve but nothing ever happens.
They ignore all written communication.
I have had to escalate to the Financial Ombudsman.

I had a similar issue at the end of a 5 year cash ISA that I wanted to transfer to a stocks and shares ISA. They “lost” my declaration that I wanted to transfer. I initiated the transfer with the other party as you are supposed to do to maintain the ISA tax free status. Weeks went by and nothing happened. I eventually got fed up with them saying they hadn’t received anything from the other party or my declaration. I tried to contact them through secure messaging to make my declaration but that kept crashing even though I tried with my iPhone, iPad and laptop. Eventually they agreed they had received my email with a declaration which I sent directly to their isa mailbox. Then I got the third party to send them an email and copy me in so I knew it was sent. I then contacted them and it was then hard for them to deny receipt even though they tried. I called them on a daily basis (each time waiting about 20 minutes to get them on the phone - fortunately I am retired) until they told me they had transferred the cash - had to find out, when, how and by what means for the third party. Finally the transfer of my cash, initiated in April, was completed near the end of June. Good Luck - never again will I be doing business with them 😀
