Will things speed up in July

I had an offer accepted in April and I am wondering once the stamp duty holiday has ended, do you think things will speed up.
All searches are back, waiting on enquiries from vendor (there are a lot)
Thanks

If you're waiting on enquiries from the vendor, then the delay is not necessarily SD holiday related. The vendor themselves may just be being slow to reply...0

I would imagine a large number of conveyancers solicitors EAs and others will have been postponing taking their holidays until after the end of June because of the rush, so perhaps many of them might be away for a few weeks from July onwards, leading to a slowdown due to staff shortages?0

I would have thought it will slow down even further. After all why rush for a deadline that's already passed? Solicitors have been flat out for the last year and are probably more interested in planning their summer holidays than dealing with the backlog.
Is it a leasehold property?0 -

I'm already looking forward to the 'My Solicitor has gone on holiday!!!!!' posts by posters also on holiday at the time.0 -
I hope so, our solicitor received our draft contract 3 weeks ago and has said she hasn't even looked at it because she's got 8 sales completing and is too busy. Why she took on more clients I don't know.

I know my conveyancer has been flat-out trying to get sales done before the end of June, so I haven't been chasing them as I had no hope at all of meeting that deadline - I hadn't thought at all about the issue above! I think I might need to downgrade my expectations of what will be achieved in July

When our solicitor was on holiday last year I was told who would be picking up the case and I did speak to them as we were at a critical point (due to an issue caused by my solicitor previously) and actually quite a bit of stuff happened that week, all actioned and sorted no issue.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0

Looks like someone in the chain isn't that bothered to progress things.
Three of our neighbours all accepted offers in April. One moved last week, one goes next week, the other will move when the schools finish.0 -
Our solicitor has told us they’re unlikely to do much with our case this month as they’re prioritising those completing before June. I’m fine with this and I appreciate the honesty.
To be honest I’m fairly impressed with how responsive they’ve been given the above.0 -

The panic threads start when a conveyancer disappears without warning and without a handover.1
