Ooh, Thank you for the info!
  • I also just saw the word night safe on my account and started to research this.  Then I remembered I'd paid a cheque into the Post Office to forward onto my bank for processing, so relieved to say, no scam.
  • Always immediately report any unrecognised funds to your bank, or you could inadvertently become involved in money laundering.
  • Hello, I've just noticed similar thing on my bank statement (March 2023), a deposit from "NIGHT SAFE" which I didn't recognise. After reading it could be of envelope deposits, I then remembered that after selling my vehicle in the UK, DVLA sent me a cheque with a partial refund for taxes I had paid that covered the vehicle until June. I couldn't manage to cash it out so I went to a PostOffice branch and they gave me an envelope so they could forward that to my bank to be processed. That was it!

A Post Office deposit won't show on your account as Night Safe though. It shows as Post Office.
