Flexi Furlough

Options
Hello, I have a question regarding flexi furlough. How much notice does my employer need to give to ask me to work?

I am flexi furloughed and often my employer will ask me to come in on the day without any notice. They often change my furloughed hours 2/3 days in advance.

It means I can’t get much planned but sit in the house in case they ask me to work. Gets very depressing.

Can anyone help with some advice please?

What does your contract say with regard to your days in terms of normal working times? Eg. if your contract has fixed days then your working times should be on those fixed days. People who are on flexible furlough should though keep themselves available for work during their normal work times. Eg. if you are supposed to work Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00 then they can call you in to work those hours at any time.

This should have been laid out in the furlough agreement. Unfortunately many employers didn't do that.

Does your existing contract have anything useful? eg notice periods for shift changes

You should speak to them & try to come to an agreement
