Love Holidays help please

My package holiday, paid for by credit card for our family of 8 was over £4000 and paid directly to love holidays in 2019.

Due to the coronavirus, we were advised by love holidays to change our dates to this year, we were kindly guided through the process of logging in to Ryanair and amending the dates to this year. There was an extra £900 to pay and Loveholidays told us this was standard and if we did not pay it then we could not change the dates. So we paid it.

I have noticed today, 2 week before our holiday which is likely to not go ahead as Greece is still in Amber, that they have given me a new booking reference and my flights are marked as " self booked"

I know there is a lot of trouble with love holidays refusing to pay refunds for flights and by the looks of it I have been duped into a new booking.

My question is, when I apply for my refund, they obviously wont refund for the flights and if Ryanair flies then im going to be quite a lot out of pocket.

That's a statement rather than a question, but is unfortunately likely to be true....

Will your travel insurance cover the cost of the flights?
