Toilet Clearance

Afternoon all,
I have had a deisgn put together by a nationwide chain of bathroom fitters.
I have a question on the position of the toilet, which is limited due to the location of the soil pipe.
The width of the bathoom is 2300mm
The designer has put a 1700mm bath along theback wall with the toilet next to the bath to link up directly with the soil pipe.
This will leave a gap 600mm for the toilet betwen the wall and the edge of the bath.
What woudl people expect to see for this gap and woudl this feel too cramped? We really are limited due to the location of the soil pipe, other wise it would have to travel from the far wall across.

I think the recommended minimum space is normally more like 900, so that would indeed be quite narrow.1

Can the soil pipe be altered ?

This is the proposal, moving the soil pipe would be a stuggle

I hate cramped toilets, I would rather a shorter bath or a shower unit than a toilet that close.
Just seen the shower unit on other side of the room. Why did you not put the bath that side and shower on toilet side?3 -
How about a corner toilet?#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660

Have a similar sized bathroom. Yes, a 1700mm bath will leave the toilet feeling very cramped. The answer is to use a 1500mm bath.

As per the above comment,
But what is the current bathroom layout ?
Please remember the room can be configured to what ever suits your present situation, it may not suit others when the property comes to sale?rental but you can always reconfigure at that time.
How many other wc's in the property?
How many double bed rooms are in the property ?
Soil pipes can be altered and create more space, it will not be a problem for an experienced ,knowledgeable bathroom fitter.
Happy plumbing

Much, much too narrow. Standard toilets are c400mm so this is a really rubbish idea. The second idea is better but can you really manage with such a small sink in a main bathroom?
Find a new designer that understands that you need something functional and comfortable that meets your ergonomic needs. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
