Refund from taxi company due to them declining the journey

Hello all,

I booked a return taxi journey via Arrow Cars on 28/5/21 at a cist of £40.41. Ten minutes before they were due to pick me up, they called me to let me know that they could not fulfil the booking as they didn't have a driver in the area. Very frustrating.

Anyway, I was advised that I would be issued with a refund, but have had no confirmation of this in writing and in fact, I haven't even had a confirmation that the booking was cancelled. I have called them twice and on both occasions, I have been told that refunds are taking "up to 4 weeks" due to Covid-19. Their website actually states 60 days!

I have contacted them in writing via their website and social media, asking for written confirmation of my refund and the date it will be refunded to me by, quoting the CRA 2015 and 30 day deadline, but they have not come back to me. At present, they still have one week left to process my refund under the CRA, but I just have a horrible feeling that they are not going to fulfil this, more so now i've noticed that their website is stating a 60 day refund turnaround. 

Any advice would be welcome!

    My advice would be wait and see. Being realistic about it you quoting the CRA at them is more likely to get their back up and have them put you to the bottom of the list than process your refund in a rush. 

    If you have paid via credit or debit card you will still be within the Chargeback period, the amount is too low for S75 if you paid via credit card. If you tried to start a Chargeback but the refund was still pending then the card provider will decline you claim anyway so you might as well wait.
