Surveyor - conflict of interest

I approached a surveyor to to complete a survey on the house that I am buying, but he has declined on the grounds of Conflict of Interest, because he had completed a survey on the house only three years ago. I guess he means for the people that bought the house from whom I am now purchasing. Is this standard practice? Or should I be worried that the surveyor reported something that he doesn’t now want to reveal?

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me - he has a prior relationship with the vendors. A bit over-cautious perhaps but surveyors are so busy at the moment that they can afford to turn down work.
Just find another surveyor.1
