Internet Banking - Time it takes to transfer money

Options
I recently changed over to an A&L current account from LTSB. I am now beginning to regret this for the simple reason that it takes 3 working days to transfer money from one current account to the other with A&L (I had two current accounts withLTSB and now have 2 with A&L). With LTSB I could move money around from one LTSB acc to the other and all I had to do was refresh my webpage. Now with A&L it takes 3 days for any changes to take place. Is LTSB the only bank to use realtime internet banking?

Thanks

No. HSBC, First Direct and Nationwide do among others

When i was with TSB transfers between my TSB accounts was instant. Between banks it was a few working days.
I use Nationwide and as gt94 has said, transfers between Nationwide accounts are instant.

Abbey is instant transfer between accounts.
  • Thanks everyone, this is a really important feature of internet banking for me. I was looking at the Abbey account but wanted to check if instant bank transfer was instant.
  • Well, I can transfer instantly between my A & L current and plus saver, so would presume it should be the same for 2 current accounts under the same name ?

Perhaps, somebody else can confirm ?

No, I'm pretty sure that's not the case but I think it's backdated to the day the transfer is done.I don't like A&L compared to Lloyds or Nationwide.
I'll check.( Sorry can't check as have less than £1 in one of the accounts)

Nationwide's online banking is first class. Barclays I find quite temperamental and slow.

Well, I transferred it today and the money went across immediately. My plus saver balance was updated instantly.
  • I thought you meant between two current accounts eg Premier and Premier Direct.
