Sub or Drop Down menus on android phone

i have an honor lite 10 phone.  Recently it stopped recognizing drop down menus.  For example if I receive a notification from my doctor saying i have a message to acces i have to enter my date of birth to access it and the 1-31, January to December and year boxes do not open for me.  Nothing happens if i click on them they just don't open.  I have tried, hard reboot, clearing the cache, full anti virus and malware scan, deleting all new apps, clearing junk.  I am loathe to do a factory reset as it will take an age to reload everything.  Has anyone ever come across this issue or have any suggestions that i could try?

Use another browser off the Play Store (Chrome or Firefox)  The stock/default browser on Android is hit and miss sometimes.

i changed the default to firefox and disabled the default but it's no different but thanks for the suggestion.
