We arrived safe and sound after an horrendous journey, more than pouring rain, flooding on roads and a 10 mile traffic jam on the A47. Took us 5 + hours for a less than 2 hour journey!!
We are in a very nice self contained cabin in the grounds. Just been for breakfast, will be going out later to hopefully a garden at East Rishton. Hope the rain holds off.8 -
Morning everyone
Gers - thanks for starting us off x
Late start for us, I slept in - which is very unusual for me, but had my second jab on Thursday and yesterday afternoon felt quite tired but managed not to go to bed until a more normal time for me, but then slept soundly. DH has been quite unwell with what we think is a reaction to the jab and the severe heat on Wednesday - so a quiet chilled weekend is planned. DS1 had his first jab yesterday he's still in his pit but that's not unusual for him and he's on a week's holiday now. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was breaded chicken, chips and beans for the menfolk. I had fishcakes and veg. Tonight will be mixture of picky bits - SM in a bit of a mess yesterday after a partial re-fit - some lines just not being stocked anymore and everything moved about so took longer to shop as couldn't find where everything was! I'm sure it will get better.
Today's plan is chilled and visit the oldies so we can take the Fathers Day gifts, tomorrow we're visiting DH elderly relative, so something to do both days but at our lesiure.
Keep safe and well x

Hello all, it's overcast again here but the wind has died down a bit, our trees were almost horizontal during yesterday afternoon ! It's colder too so I've reverted back to my joggers, T.shirt and cardigan, I hope summer isn't over already
Still we've had no rain, maybe tonight's the night ?
This morning I have stripped the bed and the bedding is in the wm, I shall hang it out in a moment. Hopefully it will dry although I had to finish off yesterday's washing indoors last night so maybe it will be the same for tonight. I shall clean the bedroom and bathroom and re-make the bed, then it'll be feet up and reading/laptop/tv for the rest of the day. I took some pre-cooked mince beef out of the freezer ready for tea last night but yesterday Mr Fix It didn't feel like anything cooked so he had a sandwich and I had fish fingers and sliced tomatoes, but I shall use the mince in a spag bol for tea tonight, I don't want to waste it.Topsy sorry you missed out on the job, perhaps something better will turn up.Take care all, hugs to the poorly or worried ones.nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10 -
