No call center/app only insurance - experiences?
Currently using Hasting who have a call center I can ring up if need be. Checking quotes online and Aviva came in very low but they don't offer a call center and it's all via the app.
I contacted Hasting a few times last year when my windscreen was damaged. As it was peak of COVID it took some effort to arrange it all so I definitely appreciated being able to call them up. The only other time I contacted them was during renewal to discuss price.
What are peoples experience with app only insurance companies? I like the reassurance I can speak to someone if needed but given I rarely contact them, wondering if I should get on with the times.

Been with Aviva and GA (part of Aviva) for a few years. Online works well, changes to policies are free using the website and I have used their online chat to discuss renewal quotes with no issues.
If you need to claim there is a number to call.0 -
"Aviva Online" is relatively new but they have been running their "Quote Me Happy" sub-brand for several years now with a similar concept of absolutely no inbound Sales & Service call centres but there are Claims call centres. A search for the older brand will probably show up more results of people's views.0

Quote me happy will email a response usually in 24 hours or less.
Used them for a number of years but never had a claim0 -
Very happy with Aviva online, all done through the app or website with no waiting for call centre. I changed my mind about hire car cover was able to remove it and then do quotes for a new vehicle online. New vehicle quotes seemed competitive. there are no charges for updates and I had an email query about the optional hire car cover answered within 24 hours. Recommended.0
