Hi, I've just taken out a new car insurance. I thought that I had 6 years NCB but infact I have 5 ! The insurer hasnt asked for proof as of yet. Does this matter ? Do I need to change this on the policy?
TIA

It'll go down a lot better if you admit your mistake than they catch you out... if they think you intentionally gave them the wrong amount they can void the policy, keep the premiums and you'll have to declare for life that you've had insurance cancelled.
May be worth double checking whatever it is you are looking at. Many insurers only give credit for up to 5 years NCD and so sometimes proof of NCD will say something like "5 or more years" or "5+" which is fine for the majority but not so good with the minority who give discounts up to 9 years (though it certainly used to be the case that a 8 year NCD discount was worth less than our 5 year max NCD)2 -
Thankyou, I have spoke with insurance company today and there is a very small increase in my premiums. Nee bother..0
