Need a new replacement VW Polo key fob for my 2012 model car.
The cost is mega if bought through a VW retailer.
Anyone have recommendations where they can be purchased reasonably.

You have a key currently?
All remotes and immobiliser chips are coded differently. Your car's security system recognises multiple remotes and chips.
Let's call the key you have A.
The car may also recognise B, perhaps C. But you don't have those.
The dealer will remove the keys you do not have, and code in a new key, D.
You can get your existing A cloned by most high-street key cutting places. Let's call the new one A'. B and C will still be recognised.
When you then lose A...
if you went the dealer route, A can be removed, D will be recognised and you can add E.
...but...
if you went the cloning route, if you then lose either A or A', you cannot remove it, because it's the only one you have.
Yes, the dealer will be expensive. But there's a difference in what you're getting. A security specialist might be able to do the same as the dealer, cheaper, but a high street place that never even sees the car certainly won't.
If you do not have a key at all, you are frankly stuffed. The car's security system will need specialist attention, if not replacement.1 -
Define 'replacement'?
If you mean it's broken, ebay has loads of replacement shells and you just swap over the internal electronics from your broken one.1 -
+1 on checking ebay for a cheaper route.
