  • Anybody help out on this at all?

    PLEASE!
  • The entry below is suspect.

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {B643F186-CFA0-4EFA-A963-CC42627661C0} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcyw.dll

Google for "ddcyw.dll" and see if you can remove it.
  • Warnings

Well keep getting a pop up stating an HBO is being installed....computer also shut down on me last night whilst doing a hijack this scan?

Tried deleting the above named dll file and it said it was being used by another person or program!!
  • kill the process in task manager first, if it is vundo, it will be a bit tricker to get rid off
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • how do you kill it off in task manager?
  • ctrl alt del
    processes
    end process

    upload it to www.virustotal.com

    for a quick check
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

albertross is correct. The log has evidence of a vundo infection (plus the Sweetie Trojan, Conhook and other malware). As you suspect ... it looks as if someone has been allowing malware through your protection.

I want you to run two fixing tools first.

Download SDFix from here and save it to your desktop …….
    http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.zip
Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following ……
    • Restart your computer
    • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
    • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
    • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
    • Choose your usual account.
In Safe Mode, right click the SDFix.zip folder and choose Extract All ……
    • Open the extracted folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
    • Type Y to begin the script.
    • It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
    • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
    • Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool will be running and removing files.
    • When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and display Finished, then press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
    • Finally open the SDFix folder on your desktop and copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt back onto the forum with a new HijackThis log
    *********************************
Next download Combofix from either of these locations …..
    http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
    http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe

Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
Note >> Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall.

When finished, it will produce a log for you.
    The report is called ComboFix.txt.
NOTE THAT Combofix should never take more than 20 minutes (including the reboot if required).

If it takes longer then open Task Manager (press ctrl and alt and del at the same time) > use the Processes tab and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg then Combofix should continue.

If that happened we want to know so please tell us which process you had to end.

Post the Combofix log in your next reply along with a fresh HJT log (using version 2 NOT the version you have) AND an update on how the computer is operating now.
