Sure Start Maternity Grant - Universal Credit

Hi forum,

If I start claiming universal credit, will I be entitled to the grant in the title or have you had to of been on benefits when the baby was born?

    Taken from that link...

    You must claim the grant within 11 weeks of the baby’s due date or within 6 months after the baby’s birth.

    You must also have no other children in the family.

    You are not currently getting UC
    You are currently waiting to hear about your UC claim.

    If you are expecting a baby you complete part 3
    If the baby has been born you complete part 4

    As sammy says, that is not the role of people in the JobCentre. They are administrators of the benefits system, not advisers. If you want to get an idea of what you are entitled to use a benefits calculator Benefits calculators - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
