Home building & contents insurance

Hey,
My MA found me a quote for building and contents but I have found a cheaper quote that includes more and includes unlimited building cover but not sure which one to go with, like is there anything I should look out for?
Is it better to have unlimited building cover than up to a certain amount?
Thank you

Your mortgage advisor is probably on a commission if you take the policy through them. Which is probably why they want to sell it to you.Go for the policy that gives you the most cover for your money. I think unlimited buildings cover is a good thing to have.1

'Unlimited' becomes academic above a certain point. I mean, how much would it cost to completely rebuild your house should the very worst happen? One thing I would certainly recommend you include is Legal Protection. It's usually only around £25pa (some quotes will have it included), but when you need it, blimey you'll be thankfulWhen you use a comparison site, just enter a 'building' figure that you know will be more than enough - £400k or summat - and then tick all the bits that are important to you - ie LP! Then the results will include both 'up to £400k' build cover and also 'unlimited' - one ain't better than the other.1

Same principle applies to Life Assurance. You want Level Term ( so it stays the same amount for the whole life of the mortgage ) Single premium ( so it does not go up as you get older ) and as cheap a premium as you can find so Shop round and try comparison sites and Cavendish online.1

Thank you for all the comments, is it best to hold onto quotes until an exchange date is planned? Or confirm now for a later start date?0

You won't be able to confirm now for a later start date, because until you have exchanged, you don't actually have anything to insure.1
