I like the combination oven / microwave as it is excellent at cooking jacket potatoes in 30 minutes and I imagine there are other things you can cook well using the combined function like some frozen meals. I am not keen on having a microwave using up space on our worktop.  We do have two ovens with grill though, one has a microwave.
Tbh I do only really use the microwave for porridge, and maybe reheating stuff.
Me too, no real cooking. But I do use it at least 3 times a day at a minimum. Its quick, easy to clean and you can't beat the convenience. Ovens by comparison are a hassle.

Fair. I use it once/day. I understand that, but I thought if it's got a microwave inside it, it should be able to be as quick as a regular microwave? (or almost as quick, even)

For instance, I do use my Thermomix as a ridiculously expensive kettle. It is a bit slower, but it does have temperate controls

The one I've used at a friend's house was a 1200W one.  Nothing wrong with it.

I have a thermomix but use a stove top kettle.  An induction hob will
boil water faster than a kettle.

This is fair. I use it purely for the temperature option in the morning. I figure by the time I've finished my porridge, it's boiled. I wouldn't recommend getting a TM JUST for the kettle function though. That'd be a terrible waste.

I'm guessing your friend's integrated microwave/oven/grill is fine for normal use?

We’ve been using a combination microwave/ convection oven/ grill for about three years now. (There’s only two of us though). Can even manage a roast dinner. The only real issue is if you have the oven on a high temperature but also want somewhere to warm the plates.

    would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

That microwave oven linked in the opening post is small for an oven - 40L.  A full size oven would be around 70L, so a big drop in space.  In a past kitchen we installed an oven and a combination microwave and oven.  We just didn't agree with the combo microwave and only used it as a second smaller oven and grill, and bought a microwave to stand on the worktop!

hu? Which is it, you just use it for porridge or you use it 3+ times a day? Surely you aren't eating porridge at least three times a day?

As to easy to clean... pyrolytic oven is a million times easier than a microwave. I button press, 10 seconds of damp cloth and its spotless... getting dried on porridge splatter off a microwave is much harder.

I believe you're mixing them up, with myself. I've mentioned using it for porridge. They mentioned using it 3 times a day.

Ah. Didn't consider that. I imagine then, something like this would be something I could buy instead? Though I'd probably want a gas oven, given that it's way cheaper to run.
