Complimentary vouchers

If provided with free travel vouchers (for disability using a taxi / disabled vehicle hire) which have expired due to C-19 and were not used due to lockdown, should they be re-issued? Argument- they were complimentary and new vouchers for this financial year have been issued.

Won't it be down to the rules and policies of each individual council scheme, assuming that's what you're referring to? There will be at least two sides to the argument - are you coming at this from the perspective of a disabled person denied what you see as your rights or from that of an indignant council tax payer begrudging some perceived 'freebies'?0

I believe that if something has been given free, which could be even down to a cinema voucher via a bank, or a supermarket discount voucher that has expired, it was given free as a supplement, not for someone to argue that they are still entitled to that voucher as it expired, also given they are still entitled to free public transport. You are right there are policies in place which backs up the organisation in this case. I am also neither of what you ask above.0

Why should the fact that they're free influence whether or not expired vouchers are extended/replaced?Sambo2606 said:I believe that if something has been given free, which could be even down to a cinema voucher via a bank, or a supermarket discount voucher that has expired, it was given free as a supplement, not for someone to argue that they are still entitled to that voucher as it expired, also given they are still entitled to free public transport.
What stance is the organisation taking then? Feel free to be less cryptic and put some flesh on the bones....Sambo2606 said:You are right there are policies in place which backs up the organisation in this case.
You certainly sound resentful, which would put you somewhat closer to the second category than the first!Sambo2606 said:I am also neither of what you ask above.0 -
Personally think if the service was unavailable, or the individual was advised to shield as CEV, then yes, should be reissued as gesture of goodwill.0
