I’m in this month for
£230
I have £50 for bulk items which I think I’ll include every 2nd month which I’m hoping we may not need giving that we have stocked up well and truly! I still need to figure out how much of our shop Friday should be from the bulk fund before I update with this months first spends but I have also researched and found some good deals on Amazon subscribe and save so need to ensure that these are reflected in my monthly cash flow statement as well as from groceries/bulk.I’ll be back tomorrow probably to update with first spends but it’s likely to be £100+ for sure! 😖Follow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

A big Tesco delivery arrived today. I've got to be very careful with our meals this month, it'll all be in the planning. Just got to get under £300 this month, if only for my own sanity.
£216.09 spent, meaning £83.91 is left for the usual dairy and fresh fruit/veg.
A few days ago I made a chunky minestrone soup, using onion, carrot, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, lentils, stock, a few sticks of spaghetti. I was quite heavy handed with the seasoning, especially dried chopped hot peppers. Hubs loved it and said we should cook it a couple times a month. It was cheap as chips. We've also been thinking of having a few vegetarian days a week, so no doubt that'll help with the budget.
Good luck everyone for July5 -
First proper shop was done on Saturday.
£37.30 in Aldi on 2 litres of fizzy tropical drink, 6 litres of Dr Pepper, a pack of buttermilk pancakes, 4 pack of baked beans, 4 pack of almond chocolate ice cream sticks, bag of sweet potato fries, 500g Greek yoghurt, 500g Skyr, cream cheese, coronation chickendeli filler, pack of prawns, pack of smoked salmon slices, pad thai meal kit, goats cheese, Cheddar, chocolate spread, soy sauce, bath foam, 2 baking potatoes, shampoo, spring onions, 500g carrots, 2 mini lettuce, shower gel, 4 bananas, mini jammy biscuits, 1 red pepper, 2 packs of fibre bars, 10 bags of crisps, 6 raisin brioche, pack of tortilla wraps, 6 rolls, pack of tomatoes and a punnet of nectarines.
Onto Sainsburys for anything we couldn't get in Aldi, where we spent £13.55 on 2 iced buns (YS), nori, 500g sushi rice, jar of pickled ginger, wasabi paste, frozen cauliflower bites, porridge bars and 6 pints of milk.
Lastly, M&S where we spent 72p on a punnet of strawberries (YS).
Total: £51.57
Meal plan for the week (started on Saturday).
1. Quorn chicken nugget wraps with sweet potato fries
2. Date night - making sushi
3. Jacket potato with cheese and beans
4. Cream cheese pasta
5. Sloppy joes with sweet potato fries
6. Pad thai
7. Homemade pumpkin and goats cheese pie with veg
8. Korean Quorn beef and rice bowl
Breakfasts will be yoghurt, brioche or porridge bars, all with fruit. At the weekend we always have pancakes as a Saturday morning treat!
Lunches for me will be pasta ready meals or vegetarian pork pies with salad. OH will have either salmon and prawn or coronation chicken wraps or quiche.
For snacks we have fruit, mini biscuits, fibre bars, crisps and mini cheese.
Don't know if anyone finds this interesting or if I'm just noseyI love reading what other people buy and plan!
Anyway £57.62/300 so far.9 -
@Smoosh I too like seeing what other people are buying and eating - weird hey!
£142.33/£230 gone already leaving £87.67 for the month! Goodness me!
Im certain that will be fine though considering how much we have in but i have noticed what used to be a quick £10 shop for essentials now costs considerably more than that and i know the only thing we're having extra of is milk! Hmmm.
Its my daughters fist birthday party on the 24th July (we're having 2, family and friends!) and are putting on a BBQ so i will be raiding YS mince, sausages and burgers between now and then so as to not spend too much. There is a birthday pot but id much prefer to use that for gifts and decorations
Im struggling to meal plan this week as a result of there being too much choice, but tonight we're having our weekly staple meal - Chicken Fajitas!
Its likely that there will broccoli and pesto pasta later this week given ive bought a large head of broccoli, probably homemade pizza Friday using up the remaining veggies leaving just the 1 week day to plan for... I shall check what needs using first!Follow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay
