British gas smart meter question

So I recently bought a new house which had a smart meter installed

When I come down first thing in the morning I find that I have used between 70 and 80 pence since 11 p.m. the night before. The only things I have running overnight are the fridge freezer, phone, fan.

It is now over 12 hours later and I have only used an additional 40 p according to my smart metre. Bearing in mind that I work from home so all day I have my computer running, two monitors, phone on charge, TV, radio etc.

On the metre or the app I can see that I have a spike in usage at 12 midnight and 1 a.m. Danny drops to minimal usage for the remainder of the night.

I do not have a hot water tank.... Well, I don't think I do because the property has a new combi boiler.... But I've not checked the attic yet as I don't have ladders to get up there. I assume it would have been removed when they replaced the boiler!

Any ideas why I seem to be using a lot of electric between those hours?

Okay, I'll be honest.... I wrote this while sat on the bog. And then it hit me, the shower!! Turned the shower on and the green light on my meter went red! I have a shower before bed!

Is it an electric shower?  Is it a gas combi boiler?  If the answer to both questions is "yes" then you could save yourself money by using the hot water from your combi to shower with.

It is the shower. I'm going to investigate the tap converter option
