British gas smart meter question

So I recently bought a new house which had a smart meter installed
When I come down first thing in the morning I find that I have used between 70 and 80 pence since 11 p.m. the night before. The only things I have running overnight are the fridge freezer, phone, fan.
It is now over 12 hours later and I have only used an additional 40 p according to my smart metre. Bearing in mind that I work from home so all day I have my computer running, two monitors, phone on charge, TV, radio etc.
On the metre or the app I can see that I have a spike in usage at 12 midnight and 1 a.m. Danny drops to minimal usage for the remainder of the night.
I do not have a hot water tank.... Well, I don't think I do because the property has a new combi boiler.... But I've not checked the attic yet as I don't have ladders to get up there. I assume it would have been removed when they replaced the boiler!
Any ideas why I seem to be using a lot of electric between those hours?

Okay, I'll be honest.... I wrote this while sat on the bog. And then it hit me, the shower!! Turned the shower on and the green light on my meter went red! I have a shower before bed!2

Is it an electric shower? Is it a gas combi boiler? If the answer to both questions is "yes" then you could save yourself money by using the hot water from your combi to shower with.Reed0
