Congratulations, 7lb 2 is a nice weight too, my first was 9lb 10 and second 9lb 2! Apparently I make big babies, considering the average in my family was about 6lbs 😂

A home birth sounds lovely, I ended up being induced with both babies. Second birth was a lot faster than the first though and much easier than the first (forceps) delivery.

Bet you were glad of your high pain threshold, I needed all the painkillers with my first (40 odd hour labour) and gas & air with the second (wonderful stuff that I remember fondly).

    Enjoy the newborn cuddles. 🥰

Thank you everyone. Yes the experience was totally different to my first and the difference it’s made to the next stage has been remarkable. No hospital stays so no issues with feeding and really positive experience over all.

Trying for a bit of normal, yesterday we ventured to town and LB was in the sling whilst I was able to get hub a card and presents for his birthday this Sunday.
LG loves him so we are just trying to remind her to practice ‘gentle hands’ but she’s over excited the minute she sees him so it’s just going to take a little while.

Allocated more budget to groceries this month, as well as baby clothes and outings money. Less to the savings pot and none to overpay the loan but we may have tampered with the idea of staying put a little while longer so that might not be a bad thing anyway.

Hope everyone else is managing the end of the month blues!

Thanks everyone 🥰 currently lay down having a good old cuddle whilst pondering.

I felt very overwhelmingly sad the day before yesterday which I know was due to hormones after having LB but decided I needed to harness small wins and make very poignant notes of them. They’re largely down to the change in routine and a huge dose of mum guilt towards my LG so trying my hardest to not be too hard on my self but also mentally log the positives so that I can reflect.

Todays plan, if it works out is to bake a cake with my LG. Orange sponge and no doubt she will try and scoff the mixture! 😂

Edit to add: sorry this isn’t v MSE or debt busting at all, but I enjoy the logging it down process no matter the subject

Lovely that LG loves LB so much.  I remember reading that we feel like we've given every last ounce of love to our first child and it's hard to contemplate how we can find equal love for a second but lo and behold we can and that our pot of love is limitless and expands readily.
enjoy making the orange cake if you find time to do that otherwise just munch a biscuit with LG and make the cake another day.
